Simla Tandoori Oswestry are joining hundreds of Asian restaurants around the country in the UK’s Big Curry Night In fundraising appeal.

From Friday 22nd May through to Sunday 31st May hundreds of restaurants and takeaways around the country will help to support the British Asian Trust’s appeal to raise funds to help feed families in South Asia who have lost their daily paid work due to the COVID-19 crisis and as a result have lost their ability to buy food.

 

The restaurant is asking customers to donate just £1 when ordering a takeaway meal in support of the appeal and hopes to make a difference to hundreds of families in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka giving them the chance to buy food and essential items for another month.

 

Founded by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, The British Asian Trust has helped over 5 million in South Asia in the fields of education, livelihoods, anti-trafficking and mental health.

 

Help to support this local fund-raising event while you enjoy an evening in with your favourite curry at home in lock down.

Shropshire restaurants in for spicy night for charity

Things are spicing up throughout Shropshire in preparation for a national virtual charity night celebrating Indian cuisine.

The Himalaya Tandoori in Bridgnorth, Lee Cross Tandoori in Shrewsbury, and Simla Tandoori Restaurant in Oswestry are getting ready for The Big Curry Night In – an opportunity for the UK to come together under lockdown and enjoy the one of nation’s favourite dishes while helping feed thousands of people in South Asia.

Oswestry Indian restaurant to participate in Big Curry Night In
AN AWARD-winning Indian restaurant in Oswestry is taking part in The Big Curry Night In, which starts on Thursday.

Simla Tandoori, in Beatrice Street, will join hundreds of restaurants and takeaways across the country to support the British Asian Trust’s appeal to raise money to help feed families in South Asia who have lost work because of COVID-19.

The event is aiming to bring people across the UK together during lockdown, by encouraging them to enjoy the nations favourite dish while helping others.


From Thursday, May 22, through to Sunday, May 31, the restaurant is asking customers to donate just £1 when ordering a takeaway meal in support of the appeal.

It hopes to make a difference to hundreds of families in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka giving them the chance to buy food and essential items for another month.
